A petition has been filed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency asking the agency to set rules regarding pollution that comes from the large ocean going ships, both cargo and cruise ships. The petition is a joint effort of several environmental groups, namely Oceana, Friends of the Earth and the Center for Biological Diversity and it was filed in their names by Earthjustice, the leading U.S. public interest environmental law firm. Navy Suspends Environmental Tectonics

Environmental Tectonics Corp., which designs and installs aircraft training systems, on Friday said it has been suspended by the Navy from doing any work for the federal government.

Under the suspension, the Southampton, Pa.-based company is not allowed to solicit work with from the Navy, receive any contracts or renew existing contracts, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Environmental Power Corporation Announces Agreement with the Benham Companies, LLC to Construct Project at JBS/Swift Grand Island, Nebraska Facility

Environmental Power today announced that it has reached agreement with the Benham Companies, LLC of St. Louis, Missouri, to provide design and construction services for the previously announced anaerobic digester project at the JBS/Swift Grand Island, Nebraska beef processing facility. The 235,000 mmbtu/year biogas project will provide biogas to replace a portion of the natural gas currently used at the Grand Island facility.
