Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseyinli / The Press Service of the Ecology and Natural Ministry of Azerbaijan has reported that the Ministry had made the decision to capture any wild animals which were a threat to the population in the hope of eradicating fear in certain regions of Azerbaijan.
A special group, which included local and professional hunters, began the process of hunting down animals with rabies who posed a threat to the population and livestock. As a result of these measures, blood samples of the captured animals have been submitted to the Veterinary laboratory and ‘Laboratory Of Epidemiology Control Over Wild Nature’ at the Department of Biology Varieties and Development of Protecting Natural Zones of Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry.
Recently there have been reports of several cases of wild animals attacking local people. A child died after being bitten by a wild animal in the Nefchala district.
